On the occasion of Basant Panchami, Maha Kumbh witnessed a powerful display of service and social harmony in Prayagraj.
The Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with the National Medicos Organization and ALIMCO, set up a pandal along the banks of the Sangam, offering vital assistance to the underprivileged at the event.
Shravan Kumbh has been supporting thousands, especially those with hearing impairments, and the number of beneficiaries continues to grow.
For the first time at Maha Kumbh, the Yogi government introduced a special camp for the elderly and hearing-impaired, providing free tests and assistive devices through the Social Welfare Department.
Amid the grand festivities of Maha Kumbh, this initiative stands as a symbol of service and inclusion, aiming to bring marginalized groups into the mainstream.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a 100-bed ashram has established in the Kumbh area for senior citizens from state-run old-age homes.
Special arrangements have been made for their stay, ensuring they can participate in the Sangam Snan and the religious festivities of the Kumbh Mela.
So far, over 500 senior citizens from various districts, including Mirzapur, Gonda, Siddharthnagar, Bhadohi, Kaushambi, Hardoi, Sitapur, and Lucknow, have taken part in the holy event, earning spiritual merit.
By 26 February, the government plans to facilitate Amrit Snan for 2,000 elderly devotees from state-run old-age homes.
Maha Kumbh 2025 is emerging not just as a religious gathering but as a symbol of inclusivity and empowerment.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s initiative has not only honored the elderly but also set a remarkable example of service and devotion.
The special arrangements for the elderly and differently-abled reflect the government’s unwavering commitment to social welfare, ensuring that every section of society has a rightful place in this grand spiritual celebration.
