Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was actively overseeing the Basant Panchami Amrit Snan at Maha Kumbh from the early hours of Monday, monitoring updates from the ‘war room’ since 3 AM to ensure the smooth conduct of the sacred ritual.
Following the recent stampede that claimed 30 lives and injured 60 people, CM Yogi Adityanath’s primary focus was on the safety and well-being of saints and devotees.
His priority was to ensure that all necessary arrangements were in place for a well-organized event.
The Chief Minister consistently directed key officials, including the DGP, Principal Secretary of Home, and those from the Chief Minister’s Office. He emphasized strict adherence to safety protocols and the prompt resolution of any issues.
His vigilance was crucial in managing the massive influx of devotees. It ensured the event proceeded without major disruptions.
Speaking on the arrangements, Vaibhav Krishna, DIG of Maha Kumbh, stated, “The arrangements are excellent. As you can see, all our ghats and pathways are well-organized and functioning smoothly. There are no pressure points or overcrowding anywhere. Crowd control measures are in place, ensuring the safety of everyone present.”
Basant Panchami’s Amrit Snan at Triveni Sangam is a key ritual of Maha Kumbh. It attracts millions of devotees seeking spiritual purification.

Mahamandaleshwar Santosh Baba, also known as Satu Baba, reflected on the occasion’s significance, asserting, “This Amrit Snan is undoubtedly a source of light, brightness, and prosperity. It feels that this dip will bring joy, light, and prosperity into life. On the occasion of Basant Panchami, I wish happiness and prosperity to the entire nation.”
The event’s management has earned widespread praise for ensuring both the safety of millions and the sanctity of Maha Kumbh 2025.
