In a heartwarming union of hearts, a 76-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman tied the knot in Adapada village, located in the Ganjam district of Odisha. Rama Chandra Sahu, a resident of Adapada village, found love again with Sulekha Sahu from Kulad village. The couple exchanged vows at the Bhanjanagar court on July 19, 2023.

The blossoming of this beautiful relationship began seven years ago when Ramachandra and Surekha first crossed paths during a feast in Kulad village. They struck up a conversation, and as time passed, their bond grew stronger, eventually evolving into love. Ramachandra, who had lost his first wife many years ago, found solace and companionship in Surekha, and he decided to take the courageous step of proposing to her.

“I am 76 years old. My wife passed away many years ago. We both met at a feast in Kulad village. I had decided to propose to her someday in our first meeting itself. Finally, I did, and she accepted my proposal. We are happy together,” said Ramachandra, content with the newfound joy in his life.

Similarly, Surekha shared her excitement about the marriage, recounting their meeting at the feast and how their friendship evolved into love over the years. Though her family members had initial reservations, they eventually embraced their union, leading to the joyous celebration at the Bhanjanagar Court.

The locals of Adapada village also expressed their happiness and admiration for the couple’s love story, seeing it as an inspiring example of finding love and happiness at any age.
