Now Lalu To Face Land-For-Jobs Case: CBI Questioning In Delhi After Rabri

The government’s initiative to curb corruption is being disliked by the people involved. On one hand 8 leaders from opposition parties write letter to PM Modi, on the other hand the probe agencies are fully active on catching the big time corrupt people and politicians around the country.

The shot-off letter to the PM alleges misuse of central agencies for the BJP’s political interests, appears to be supporting the corruption indirectly. The letter has no answer on the question – What to do with the big-time corrupt of India?

Following the questioning of  former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi at her home in Patna in connection with an alleged land-for-jobs scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation questions Lalu Yadav today. To question the former union railway minister, the probe agency has reached Lalu’s daughter Misa Bharti’s Delhi residence at Pandara Road. The investigation is in respect of the same case.

The Land For Job case names the Yadav couple along with their daughters Misa and Hema. The CBI case is based on accusations that Lalu Yadav and his family purchased lands at cheap price. And for this they allegedly allured people and gave them jobs in exchange for their lands. It was nineteen years ago when Lalu happened to be Union Railway Minister of India from 2004 to 2009.

The May 2022 FIR also registers twelve people besides the veteran politician from Bihar along with wife and daughters. The 12 people are the ones who allegedly were given jobs in exchange for land. Significantly, in the same case last year Lalu Yadav’s aide Bhola Yadav was arrested by the CBI who happened to be former Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

Lalu Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya is found pretty indignant on the questioning and has said Lalu is being harassed. She also warned that in case something happens to him, she is not going to “spare anyone”.

“Papa is constantly being harassed. I will not spare anyone if anything happens to him,’ Rohini writes in her latest tweet.
