Keshav Maurya Hits Back At Dimple Yadav Over Ghazipur Encounter Remarks

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has responded to questions raised by Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav over the Ghazipur encounter, saying that police are required to act in criminal cases and any complaints from family members are examined through due process.

Maurya said a separate inquiry would examine the Ghazipur encounter case, and any negligence uncovered during the investigation would invite action.

Maurya asserted that SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and MP Dimple Yadav had no moral authority to comment on law and order issues. He alleged that those living in ‘glass houses’ were throwing stones at others and maintained that the law would take its course against the accused individuals.

The Deputy CM added that police respond when attacked by criminals and that investigations would determine accountability in the Ghazipur case.

Reacting to Dimple Yadav’s remarks on unemployment, inflation and the economy ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing a record tenure on June 10, Maurya praised the Prime Minister’s 12-year tenure. He said India had moved towards self-reliance during this period, with domestic industries producing products that the country previously imported from abroad.

Maurya also targeted opposition parties, claiming the Congress, Samajwadi Party, Rashtriya Janata Dal and Trinamool Congress had faced growing political irrelevance after voters removed them from power.

According to him, development work had progressed transparently in the country and Uttar Pradesh over the past 12 and nine years respectively, benefiting young people.

Cow Protection and Political Criticism

Commenting on the meeting between Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav and Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati regarding the campaign to declare the cow as the national mother, Maurya accused the SP leadership of political posturing. He claimed the BJP had consistently championed cow protection, while accusing previous governments of failing to curb cow slaughter and smuggling.

Maurya further asserted that neither the Samajwadi Party would return to power in Uttar Pradesh nor the Congress at the Centre by 2047, claiming that the BJP represented both the present and the future. He expressed confidence that the BJP would return to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2027 and continue strengthening India’s global standing.

Responding to Dimple Yadav’s description of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as a ‘political Hindu’ rather than a Sanatani, Maurya termed the remark inappropriate and said he would pray that she receives wisdom. He also backed BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary’s call for party workers to prepare for the 2027 Assembly elections, saying the party was gearing up for victories in multiple states and remained confident of securing a third consecutive term in Uttar Pradesh.
