Kejriwal Used To Talk Big On Corruption, Now AAP Leaders Are In Jail For Graft: Anurag Thakur

Union minister Anurag Thakur criticised Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday, claiming that while he made big promises about fighting corruption before entering politics, several of his party’s leaders are currently serving jail sentences for embezzlement.

After a gathering of BJP officials from the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat, he addressed reporters here. He also aimed at the Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, for the recent assault on Enforcement Directorate (ED) employees in West Bengal.

According to the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, the Trinamool Congress has made it a habit to criticise independent investigative agencies and constitutional institutions.

Attacking the Delhi chief minister, Thakur said Arvind Kejriwal used to talk big on corruption before entering politics but today, he is embracing Congress leaders. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress are “brothers in corruption”, he claimed.

According to the minister, Kejriwal has been called by the ED, and several AAP leaders, including the former deputy chief minister of Delhi, are in jail on corruption-related charges.

Thakur mentioned the Centre’s Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, an initiative meant to help the underprivileged and oppressed.

He claimed that while the Narendra Modi government wanted full rights for all deprived classes, some state governments were not abiding by the rules.

Earlier, during the BJP leaders’ meeting, Thakur urged them to collaborate to fortify the party in advance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He predicted that the BJP would win over 400 seats nationwide and all four of Himachal Pradesh’s Lok Sabha seats.
