Karnataka CM Swearing-In Ceremony Live Updates: As leaders were called by Mallikarjun Kharge to the swearing-in event, Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar, the head of the Karnataka Congress, will be sworn in as the state’s chief minister and deputy chief minister respectively today.
At 12.30 PM, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will preside over the ceremony at Bengaluru’s Kanteerava Stadium. The ceremony will take place in the same location where Siddaramaiah took his oath as chief minister for the first time in 2013. In the Karnataka assembly elections, Congress won a resounding victory, taking 135 of the state’s 224 seats. With 66 seats, the BJP came in a distant second, while the JD(S) gained 19 seats.
