‘Kanwar Yatra Is More Than A Ritual’: CM Yogi Calls For Service And Social Responsibility

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged people to transform the annual Kanwar Yatra into a celebration of social responsibility, service and cooperation, describing it as more than a religious ritual.

In a message to the people of Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi said certain journeys in Indian tradition become living schools of society, culture, discipline and public life.

The Kanwar Yatra, undertaken during the holy month of Shravan, is one such tradition that unites millions of devotees through their faith in Lord Shiva.

CM Yogi said every devotee participating in the pilgrimage shares a common identity as a Kanwariya, irrespective of caste, class, language, region or economic background.

Although pilgrims may walk at different speeds, their destination remains the same: offering sacred Ganga water to Lord Shiva.

Calling the pilgrimage a major festival of harmony, the Chief Minister said it embodies the Sanatan principle of equality.

CM Yogi linked the Kanwar tradition to Lord Shiva and said it promotes discipline, service and unity.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister praised devotees’ dedication and highlighted government arrangements for their safety. He also urged pilgrims to avoid plastic, use eco-friendly kanwars and give way to ambulances and school vehicles.
