JP Singh, who was the secretary of the MCA- controlled Gymkhana Club, has caused a storm of allegations of his taking membership of club with fake documents. Questions are being raised about the role of a retired Lt General, former administrators & Ashish Verma, who became secretary this year, for hiding the murky case.
If Retd Colonel Ashish Khanna, who exposed scams since 2020, is to be believed, soon he is going to make sensational information public, in which to hide corruption, there was even negligence of security near Prime Minister’s residence.
The allegations of financial irregularities and corruption in the Gymkhana club, have once again put the club management in the dock. Surprisingly, JP Singh the accused, who joined the club at the age of just 37, has been a director and secretary also. With exposure of the matter, the functioning of Directors appointed by MCA has also come under scanner. Because upon being appointed, these directors had announced that documents of all the members are being checked.
Retired Colonel Ashish Khanna (Sena Medal), fighting against Financial irregularities and corruption in Gymkhana, has disclosed this matter.
The special thing is that Colonel Khanna, who is supporting the government in this fight, has come under target of few former bureaucrats, who are still trying to suppress the corruption in the Gymkahan. He alleges that on February 09, 1987, a person named Jatinder Pal Singh took membership of the club by pretending to be working in government service. It is surprising that in a club where there is a waiting list of more than 30 years, how was membership given to a person who was less than 37 years old?
Declared Father’s name is fake
Jatinder Pal Singh, who took membership number P-3441, had registered his father’s name as Wing Commander Harnam Singh in application documents. Colonel Khanna has also collected many documents to confirm this. He says that real name of Jatinder Pal Singh’s father is Waryam Singh. It is surprising to know that JP Singh, who took membership on the basis of fake documents, has been elected director of the club for 5 years. In 2020, he was appointed as the secretary and CEO of the Club by none other than Lt Gen DR Soni. He did it after MCA had accused him and his Close Board members in NCLT of rampant corruption against Public Interest.
Suspected role of key Seniors
JP Singh was appointed Secretary by DR Soni before the NCLAT in February 2021 suspended the management giving control to the Government on the basis of Colonel Khanna’s evidence. The MCA appointed an administrator here, but JP Singh was not removed, when there were allegations of corruption and evidence destruction against him too in complaints of members and staff. After this, three administrators were appointed one after the other. But due to his status and influence in MCA, neither Vinod Yadav nor Om Pathak removed JP Singh. Not only this, despite being a member of the club, bypassing the rules, former administrator Om Pathak paid him about Rs 33 lakh as salary illegally.
Question on the role of former secretary
In April, when the NCLT removed the then administrator Om Pathak and secretary JP Singh, former IRS Ashish Verma, who took over secretary post in the club, claimed to getting documents of club members verified by Deloitte. It is alleged that the forgery in the membership of Jatinder Pal Singh was deliberately kept hidden. Retd Colonel Khanna says that many people who were office bearers are directly involved in this matter. He has given all information about this to the new Director since April.
Membership related documents destroyed
If club sources are to be believed, the original documents of thousands of club members have been destroyed under conspiracy by defying the September 2021 orders of the Supreme Court. They include documents of membership application of JP Singh which were prepared in fake manner. Regarding the membership obtained from fake documents and other allegations, the chairman of the club, Malay Sinha, says that only after seeing documents, he will be able to state anything about it, while Jatinder Pal Singh did not answer the allegations against him even after email on Sunday and phone calls to him on Monday.
