JAINA Convention 2025 began on a vibrant note in Chicago as Pujya Acharya Lokesh Muni recited the auspicious Mangal Path to open the gathering on Friday.
Over 5,000 devotees filled the venue, joined by Sadhvi Shilapi, Saman Shrutaprajna, Saman Pratibha Prajna, Punya Prajna, Arjav Prajna and Swati Prajna, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.
Convention Convener Atul Shah, President Bindesh Shah and other dignitaries—including federation and sangh leaders—welcomed participants from across North America.
They emphasized the convention’s dual mission: celebrating Jain heritage and promoting peace worldwide.
In his keynote address, Acharya Lokesh Muni highlighted Jain principles of non‑violence (ahimsa), peace and goodwill.
He described the convention as ‘a platform not only for the Jain community but also for global peacebuilding’, and praised the crowd’s enthusiasm as proof of their deep devotion.
Organizers see the convention as a key opportunity to advance Jain culture in the United States and Canada.
Acharya Lokesh Muni will lead programs across the US and Canada during his Peace and Harmony Tour.
A scheduled lecture at the Indian Embassy in Washington, DC, is expected to be a highlight of the tour.
The convention also features cultural events and youth programs to promote Jain values and unity.
Organizers say the event will play a pivotal role in promoting global understanding of Jain ethics and way of life.
