ISRO To Postpone Chandrayaan 3 Landing From August 23 To August 27 If…

A senior Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientist stated on Monday that the nation’s space agency will proceed with the landing only if conditions are favorable on the 23rd August. Otherwise, a new attempt will be made on August 27. Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to soft-land on the surface of the moon on August 23.

ISRO: “In case, if any factor appears to be not favourable, then…”

“Two hours before Chandrayaan-3 lands on the Moon, we will take a decision on whether or not it will be appropriate to land it at that time based on the health of the lander module and the conditions on the Moon. In case, if any factor appears to be not favourable, then we will land the module on the Moon on August 27,” Nilesh M Desai, Director, Space Applications Centre, ISRO, told media.

However, Desai expressed optimism that the mission’s lander module, Vikram, will arrive at the lunar surface on time.

According to ISRO, Vikram’s touchdown will be attempted on August 23 (Wednesday) a little after 6 p.m. If successful, India will join the United States, Russia, and China as the only other nations to accomplish a soft landing on the Moon.

Chandrayaan 3 to land on South Pole

The Chandrayaan-3 mission was supposed to land on the Moon’s south pole, however, due to the recent failure of Russia’s Luna-25 mission, India now has the chance to do it first.

On July 14, Chandrayaan-3 launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDCC), an ISRO facility in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Since that very day, the entire nation’s expectations and hopes are travelling along with the space craft. It is definitely the most crucial step of India into space. Followed by the success of this mission there are many projects that will be launched by ISRO.
