Is Kamal Nath and Son Nakul Nath Joining BJP? Digvijaya Singh Cites Nehru-Gandhi Family Legacy

Amid swirling rumors suggesting a potential job switch for former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul Nath, their Congress colleague Divijaya Singh has firmly asserted that the duo remains loyal to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Dispelling speculations of Kamal Nath’s purported visit to Delhi, Singh clarified that he had recently spoken with the veteran leader, who was firmly rooted in his familial stronghold of Chhindwara.

“Kamal Nath is in Chhindwara…I had a conversation with Kamal Nath last night. He is in Chhindwara,” Singh affirmed, addressing inquiries about the alleged rumors.

Singh further reminded that Kamal Nath’s political journey commenced alongside the Nehru-Gandhi family, highlighting his unwavering support during challenging times, such as when Indira Gandhi faced legal battles. This historical bond, Singh emphasized, underscores Kamal Nath’s steadfast commitment to the Congress ethos.

Echoing Singh’s sentiments, AICC in-charge of Madhya Pradesh Jitendra Singh expressed confidence in Kamal Nath’s loyalty to the Congress party. Citing Nath’s extensive history with the party, dating back to his association with Sanjay Gandhi, Jitendra Singh dismissed the notion of Nath defecting to another political faction.

Kamal Nath’s stature within the Congress ranks remains formidable, second only to the Gandhi family. His enduring allegiance to the Nehru-Gandhi lineage has been a hallmark of his political career.

The recent flurry of speculation was ignited by Nakul Nath’s unilateral announcement of his intention to contest the Chhindwara Lok Sabha elections, a move that occurred without the party’s formal endorsement. Additionally, Kamal Nath’s closed-door meeting with local and state Congress leaders further fueled conjecture about his political trajectory.

On February 10, Kamal Nath reaffirmed his commitment to the Congress ideology, underscoring the party’s longstanding principles of truth, justice, and inclusivity. Emphasizing the Congress’s pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle and nation-building efforts post-independence, Nath reiterated his dedication to the party’s noble cause.

Amid swirling conjectures, Kamal Nath and Nakul Nath’s unwavering allegiance to the Congress party and its founding principles remains steadfast, dispelling any notions of an impending defection.
