Indian Parliamentary Delegation Concludes Japan Visit; Heads To South Korea To Continue Anti-Terror Diplomatic Mission

An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation led by Janata Dal (United) MP Sanjay Kumar Jha departed Japan on Saturday for South Korea, following a successful and impactful diplomatic visit.

During their stay, the delegation reaffirmed India’s unwavering stance against terrorism, particularly in the wake of the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack.

The visit further forms part of India’s global outreach campaign to highlight the objectives and outcomes of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.

Mission Highlights India’s Strong Stand On Terrorism

The Embassy of India in Japan further confirmed the delegation’s departure on the social media platform X, stating: “India’s unwavering commitment to combat terrorism in all its forms was reaffirmed in unequivocal terms. India has zero tolerance for terrorism as clearly demonstrated in Operation Sindoor. Water and blood cannot flow together; talks and terror cannot go together.”

Engaging The Indian Community And Honouring National Icons In Japan

Before their departure, the delegates met with members of the Indian diaspora in Japan, underlining India’s zero-tolerance policy and urging the community to help amplify this message across Japanese society.

They began their visit by paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, and concluded with a homage to Indian freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose at Tama Cemetery in Tokyo, on the eve of his birth anniversary.

The symbolic gestures served to reinforce the values of peace, resilience, and justice that underpin India’s global diplomacy.

Broad-Based Political Representation

The delegation reflected cross-party unity in India’s national security stance and included:

  • Aparajita Sarangi and Brij Lal (BJP),
  • Abhishek Banerjee (Trinamool Congress),
  • John Brittas (CPI-M),
  • and Salman Khurshid (Congress).

Their presence underscored the political consensus in India on the need to confront terrorism with resolve and diplomacy.

Strategic Engagement With Japanese Stakeholders

Over the course of three days, the Indian delegation held constructive discussions with Japanese government officials, media representatives, and academic leaders.

In each interaction, Sanjay Kumar Jha further conveyed that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, remains firmly committed to the security of its citizens and to global cooperation against terrorism.

He described the Pahalgam terror attack as a calculated attempt to derail peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Through Operation Sindoor, India had responded with precision, proportionality, and restraint, avoiding escalation while clearly signalling its resolve.

Strong Appeal For International Support

In a statement, the Indian Embassy reported that Jha stressed India’s position: “We make no distinction between terrorists and those who harbour or finance them. Combating terrorism in all forms is a national priority, and in this fight, there can be no neutral voice.”

He also called on Japan to support bringing the perpetrators, organisers, financiers, and sponsors of the Pahalgam attack to justice, and to assist in promoting global accountability for state-backed terrorism.

Japan Expresses Solidarity With India

Japanese leaders expressed solidarity with India’s anti-terrorism efforts and affirmed the need to hold those responsible for such attacks accountable.

Their response further highlighted growing international recognition of India’s right to self-defence and the global threat posed by state-sponsored terrorism.
