India Stands With Saudi Arabia; Urges Peace As Attacks Disrupt Flights And Endanger Nationals

India on Wednesday condemned attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, calling them ‘totally unacceptable’. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed solidarity with the kingdom and hoped peace would return soon.

Addressing a media briefing in New Delhi, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India opposed repeated attacks, including the latest strike on Aramco headquarters. He reaffirmed India’s support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty.

Jaiswal said the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia remained in regular contact with the Indian community and issued safety advisories.

Attacks on Riyadh International Airport and other airports disrupted flight schedules, affecting Indian travellers and carriers.

Flights connecting Riyadh, Dammam, Medina and Jeddah faced disruptions. Saudi Arabian Airlines continued operating several services between India and Saudi Arabia.

The embassy promised updated information and assistance to stranded passengers as the situation evolved.

Jaiswal addressed the October 10 attack that injured 12 Indians, one of whom later died. The embassy assisted the deceased’s family in conducting the last rites in Riyadh, in accordance with their wishes. India’s ambassador attended the ceremony.

Of the 11 injured survivors, three have been discharged, while eight remain hospitalised. Four patients are receiving treatment in intensive care units. Embassy officials regularly visit the injured and contact their families.

The MEA reiterated its commitment to protecting Indians overseas.

The Indian Embassy urged nationals to remain calm and vigilant, stay indoors during aerial attacks and follow local authorities’ instructions. It strongly advised the community against circulating or reposting videos and news related to the ongoing situation.
