India Responds In Measured Manner To Pakistan’s Continued Provocations

India has affirmed that it has reacted in a ‘measured fashion’ to Pakistan’s latest series of provocations and escalations along the western border.

In a joint press briefing held in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, along with Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Indian Air Force Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, provided a comprehensive update on Operation Sindoor and the ongoing developments.

“Over the past two to three days, we have witnessed repeated provocations from Pakistan. This morning saw another instance of escalatory conduct,” Misri stated.

He confirmed that India had exercised restraint while taking all necessary steps to defend its territory.

Drone Attacks Intercepted In Amritsar

A key incident involved the launch of multiple armed drones from Pakistani territory towards Khasa Cantonment in Amritsar early on Saturday.

The Indian Army successfully intercepted and neutralised all the unmanned aerial vehicles with its air defence systems.

The Army called out Pakistan’s actions as a ‘blatant escalation’ and condemned the attempt to violate India’s sovereignty.

“Our forces will continue to thwart such enemy designs,” it declared.

BSF Destroys Launch Pad In Sialkot

In a significant retaliatory measure, the Border Security Force (BSF) eliminated a terrorist launch pad and a Pakistani border post in Looni, District Sialkot – a known launch point for tube drones targeting Indian areas near Akhnoor.

The BSF revealed that it came under unprovoked fire from Pakistani forces on 9 May in the Jammu Sector and responded effectively.

“Our retaliation caused heavy damage to Pakistan Ranger assets. We remain unwavering in our defence of the nation,” read the BSF’s statement.

Civilian Casualties & Regional Panic

Pakistani drone strikes injured three civilians, including a woman, near Ferozepur in Punjab on Friday night.

Loud explosions early Saturday triggered panic across parts of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Srinagar and the Akhnoor region.

Residents rushed indoors amid fears of further escalation.

Shelling & Widespread Drone Sightings

In overnight shelling by Pakistani forces, civilian infrastructure in Poonch and Rajouri districts was damaged.

The Defence Ministry reported that drones, including suspected armed models, were sighted at 26 strategic points along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC).

The locations include Baramulla, Avantipora, Jammu, Pathankot, Fazilka, Jaisalmer, Bhuj, and Lakhi Nala, signalling a deliberate and coordinated pattern of intrusion attempts by Pakistan.

As tensions continue, India reiterated its commitment to protecting sovereignty while responding with responsibility and strength.
