PM Modi to meet Joe Biden
The government is considering inviting leaders of the Quad grouping for the Republic Day celebrations next year, as the United States confirmed Wednesday that President Joe Biden will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in person in New Delhi on Friday before the G20 Summit this weekend.
According to reports, a decision will only be made after knowing whether President Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will be available.
The administration sees it as extremely meaningful when someone accepts the invitation to be the primary guest at Republic Day. To choose its principal guest for Republic Day, New Delhi has been fusing strategy with hospitality. Every year, a variety of factors, including strategic and diplomatic considerations, corporate interests, and global geopolitics, influence the choice of the chief guest.
Normally, a formal invitation is only extended after properly establishing the leaders’ availability.
The Indian side is reportedly working on these issues because the G20 Summit will be attended by all three of the Quad grouping’s presidents. The Quad Leaders’ Summit will be held in India the following year.

The three leaders currently have full calendars. By the end of 2024, Biden will be approaching an election year, and January will be his final State of the Union speech before the nation goes to the polls.
