India Expresses Deep Concern Regarding the Situation in Conflict-Stricken Gaza

India reiterated its grave concern over the ongoing conflict in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need for a sustainable solution to address the humanitarian crisis affecting the region’s inhabitants. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, speaking at the 55th Session of the UN Human Rights Council, condemned terrorism and hostage-taking unequivocally, expressing hope that the conflict would not escalate further. He stressed the importance of upholding international humanitarian law and preventing the conflict from spreading beyond the region.

India strongly condemned the terror attack perpetrated by Hamas on October 7 the previous year, emphasizing that terrorism and hostage-taking are unacceptable. Minister Jaishankar emphasized the necessity of efforts towards a two-state solution, allowing both Palestinian and Israeli people to coexist peacefully. He reiterated India’s longstanding support for a two-state solution, noting its increasing urgency in the current context.
