India Assures Stable Fuel & LPG Supply; Intensifies Global Coordination Over West Asia Crisis

India on Saturday reaffirmed that domestic supplies of crude oil, petrol, diesel, and LPG remain stable despite the ongoing crisis in West Asia.

The Ministry of External Affairs also reiterated the country’s appeal for de-escalation and diplomatic dialogue among all parties.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India has consistently urged restraint since the conflict began.

He emphasised the need to ensure the uninterrupted movement of global trade and energy supplies.

India has also requested all sides to avoid targeting civilian infrastructure, particularly energy installations, due to the broader global consequences.

According to Jaiswal, New Delhi remains in constant contact with major international stakeholders.

These include members of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Discussions continue at both diplomatic and political levels to safeguard India’s energy security.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently held conversations with several global leaders.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Indian embassies are maintaining close coordination with regional authorities.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways confirmed that authorities are assisting Indian seafarers and ensuring uninterrupted maritime operations.

Special Secretary Rajesh Kumar Sinha said 30 Indian sailors were repatriated in the last 24 hours, raising the total to 253.

He added that major ports granted priority berthing to six LPG carriers arriving from overseas.

Two Indian-flagged vessels, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, also crossed the Strait of Hormuz safely and are now heading toward India.

Officials from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed that refineries are operating at full capacity.

Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma assured that petrol, diesel, and LPG stocks remain sufficient nationwide.

However, authorities cautioned consumers against panic booking of LPG cylinders and urged responsible usage.
