IndiGo To Operate 252 Weekly Flights To The Middle East From March 16-28 Amid Tensions

IndiGo on Saturday announced that it will operate 252 weekly flights to and from the Middle East between March 16 and March 28.

The airline said it carefully revised its schedule as it navigates the evolving geopolitical environment across the region.

The low-cost carrier stated that it is gradually restoring connectivity while aligning flight capacity with prevailing operational conditions.

The airline continues to monitor developments that could influence air travel.

According to the revised plan, IndiGo will run nearly 126 weekly services connecting India with Saudi Arabia.

Another 98 weekly flights will link destinations in India with the United Arab Emirates. In addition, the airline will operate 28 weekly flights to and from Oman during this period.

The airline emphasised that it remains vigilant about geopolitical uncertainties, airspace limitations, and airport-related constraints.

It also cited rising aviation fuel prices and higher insurance costs as additional operational challenges.

IndiGo stated that the temporary adjustments aim to ensure safe, dependable, and uninterrupted travel while maintaining essential connectivity between India and Middle Eastern destinations.

Passengers departing from cities in the Middle East will continue to access onward connections across IndiGo’s expanding network within India and to other international locations.

However, the airline confirmed that services to several destinations will remain suspended until March 28.

These include Doha, Kuwait City, Manama, Dammam, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah.

The airline added that it may deploy additional ad-hoc flights to assist stranded travellers if necessary.

Passengers can track updates through the airline’s website and social media platforms.

Meanwhile, shares of IndiGo’s parent company InterGlobe Aviation closed at Rs 4,162 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, marking a decline of nearly two per cent.
