IAF Confirms Precision Strikes In Operation Sindoor As Ceasefire Takes Effect

The Indian Air Force (IAF) announced on its official X handle that it has successfully completed its assigned objectives in Operation Sindoor with ‘precision’ and ‘professionalism’, following the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.

In its statement, the IAF clarified that it has carried out its assigned tasks, but the overall operation is still underway.

A detailed briefing will be provided at a later stage.

The IAF also appealed to the public to avoid speculation and refrain from sharing unverified information.

Taking to X, the IAF posted, “The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with National Objectives. Since the Operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information.”

Operation Sindoor Background

The Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting nine locations deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

The operation led to heightened tensions, with Pakistan increasing cross-border shelling and India launching retaliatory strikes.

Officials placed border areas on high alert and imposed blackouts whenever attacks occurred from across the border.

Tensions eased on 10 May after US President Donald Trump announced a ‘ceasefire’ between the two nations on his Truth Social platform.

On Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations had reached out to his Indian counterpart earlier in the day.

Both sides agreed to halt all military actions—on land, at sea, and in the air—effective from 1700 hours IST.

Misri added that the officials have issued orders to enforce the ceasefire, and a follow-up round of DGMO-level talks is likely for 12 May at noon.

Despite the ceasefire agreement, fresh violations reported on Saturday night, affecting Srinagar, Jammu city, Kathua, and Nagrota.

Indian air defences intercepted Pakistani drones amid a blackout in Udhampur, sending red streaks across the night sky and causing loud explosions.

Similar blackouts also enforced in Pathankot and Ferozepur in Punjab, as well as Jaisalmer and Barmer in Rajasthan.
