Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin his two-day visit to Gujarat on Saturday and inaugurate a wide range of development projects across Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and Mehsana.
The visit underlines the central government’s continued emphasis on regional development, health services, and cooperative advancement.
On Saturday, HM Shah will inaugurate a newly-built Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Vavol at 4:30 PM, followed by another PHC in Pethapur.
These facilities will strengthen the healthcare infrastructure and expand medical access in the region.
He will also open an underbridge connecting Sector-21 and Sector-22 in Gandhinagar, a project that will ease traffic flow and improve local connectivity.
Another highlight will be the inauguration of the renovated Kolwada Pond, a beautification project undertaken by the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation.
Additionally, HM Shah will lay the foundation stones for several development initiatives by the Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation and the Postal Department, furthering civic infrastructure.
On Sunday, Shah will attend a significant event organised by the Gujarat State Cooperative Union at Science City in Ahmedabad.
Titled ‘The Role of Cooperation in Developed India’, the programme will highlight the cooperative movement’s role in national growth.
Later, in Mehsana’s Gozariya area, he is to inaugurate a newly constructed nursing college building, enhancing educational opportunities in the medical sector.
Shah will also inaugurate a ready-to-cook frozen potato processing unit at Sadra, contributing to agro-industrial growth and local employment.
In Ahmedabad, HM Shah is to inaugurate the Pallav flyover at Pallav Char Rasta in Naranpura, built by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at a cost exceeding ₹116 crore.
The flyover is expected to ease traffic congestion significantly.
He will also lay the foundation stones for additional AMC projects.
According to AMC officials, Shah is to inaugurate 32 development projects worth ₹385.24 crore and lay the foundation for 60 more initiatives valued at ₹1,199.32 crore on May 18.
HM Shah aims to catalyse regional progress by promoting infrastructure, healthcare, education, and industrial capacity in Gujarat, aligning with the government’s broader vision of inclusive and sustainable growth.
