HM Amit Shah To Lead Public Outreach Drive, Conduct Strategy Reviews During Bengal Tour

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in West Bengal on Friday evening for a two-day tour that will mix organisational assessments with extensive public outreach. Party insiders said the visit will place greater emphasis on connecting with the public, signalling a change in approach from his previous trip.

During his tour last month, HM Shah devoted most of his time to internal party matters, limiting public interaction to a single press briefing.

In contrast, the current visit will revolve around large outreach events, highlighting the Bharatiya Janata Party’s renewed focus on voter engagement.

A senior BJP state committee member said HM Amit Shah will land at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Friday evening. After his arrival, he will convene a key meeting with the party’s core committee in the state.

The party leaders will focus the discussions on election preparedness, organisational performance and future campaign strategy.

Public Rallies Across North Bengal

On Saturday, the Union Home Minister will address two major public gatherings that will also serve as conferences for party workers.

His first engagement will be held in Barrackpore, part of the former industrial hub of the North 24 Parganas district, during the morning. Later, he will travel to Siliguri in the Darjeeling district to address another rally in North Bengal.

A state committee member of the BJP said, “BJP workers from the party’s four organisational districts or Lok Sabha seats, namely Bangaon, Barasat, Basirhat, and Barrackpore, all being from North 24 Parganas district, will be mainly present at the Barrackpore programme. On the other hand, party workers from five organisational districts, namely Siliguri, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar, will be present at the Barrackpore programme.”

After completing the Siliguri engagement, HM Shah will depart for New Delhi from Bagdogra Airport.

Political analysts say the succession of senior BJP leaders visiting West Bengal in quick succession reflects the party’s seriousness about the upcoming Assembly elections.

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed rallies in Malda and Singur, while BJP president Nitin Nabin also toured the state and spoke at a public meeting in Durgapur.

The continued presence of top BJP leaders well ahead of the poll schedule highlights the party’s intent to strengthen its organisational base and electoral prospects in West Bengal.
