Jaskaran Singh created history
Jaskaran Singh, a 21-year-old student from Punjab, created history as he became the first crorepati on Amitabh Bachchan’s game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 15. He attempted ₹7 crore question but decided to quit and took home ₹1 crore. The question was related to the Padma Purana, and the question was “According to Padma Purana, which king had to live as a tiger for a hundred years due to a deer’s curse?”
The options include – A: Kshemadhurti, B: Dharmadatta, C: Mitadhvaja and D: Prabhanjana, and the correct answer was “D: Prabhanjana.”
For the ₹1 crore question, Jaskaran used the double-dip lifeline and received a warm hug from Amitabh Bachchan when he answered correctly.

Jaskaran Singh, who hails from Khalara village in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. Despite facing the challenge of a long daily commute to college, he completed his graduation in the village. Jaskaran had been trying to participate in Kaun Banega Crorepati for four years and is now preparing for the UPSC entrance exam, which he plans to attempt next year.
The episode’s promo, shared by the makers on Instagram, has been making waves on the internet, showcasing this remarkable achievement by a young contestant.
