Hearing On ASI Survey Of Gyanvapi Wazukhana In Allahabad High Court Tomorrow

The Allahabad High Court will hold a hearing tomorrow at 2 PM regarding the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey of the Wazukhana in the Gyanvapi complex. The Hindu side had filed its reply on 24 September to the Muslim side’s counter affidavit.

In the last hearing on 24 September, the High Court granted the petitioner’s lawyer one week to file a supplementary affidavit, including a copy of Mrs. Lakshmi Devi’s application requesting a scientific survey of the Wazukhana.

Rakhi Singh Seeks ASI Survey

Rakhi Singh, the main petitioner in the Shringar Gauri case, has filed a civil revision petition seeking an ASI survey of the sealed Wazukhana, similar to the survey conducted on the entire Gyanvapi premises. The revision petition challenges the District Judge of Varanasi’s decision.

Shivling vs. Fountain Dispute

Two years ago, the Wazukhana was sealed after the alleged discovery of a Shivling. While the Muslim side claims it to be a fountain, the Hindu side insists it is a Shivling. Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal’s single bench will hear the case.
