Haryana Enhances Security Ahead Of New Government’s Oath-Taking Ceremony On 17 October

As Haryana prepares for the oath-taking ceremony of its new government on 17 October, officials have significantly tightened security protocols for the high-profile event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with key figures such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and various other senior leaders, are likely to attend the ceremony.

Nayab Singh Saini, the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate in the recent Haryana Assembly elections, will likely lead the new administration.

The BJP achieved a resounding victory, securing 48 out of 90 seats, compared to the Congress party’s 37 seats.

Authorities have reported that approximately 500 VVIPs from across India, including 14 chief ministers and multiple Union Ministers, will likely grace the occasion at the Dussehra ground in Panchkula.

They have also made special arrangements to facilitate their arrival, with some leaders using charter planes while others will arrive at the Panchkula helipad or Chandigarh airport.

Additionally, the organizers are erecting a grand stage at the venue for dignitaries and constructing a specially paved pathway to ensure smooth movement during the event.

Amit Shah and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, designated as central observers, arrived in Chandigarh on Wednesday ahead of a critical BJP legislature party meeting to elect their new leader.

Meanwhile, party officials are likely to name Nayab Singh Saini, the candidate for Chief Minister in the Assembly elections, as the leader of the legislature party.

The date for the swearing-in ceremony was confirmed following discussions between Saini and senior BJP leaders in Delhi last week, with the Prime Minister’s Office confirming PM Modi’s availability.

Panchkula To Host BJP Swearing-In Ceremony For Second Time Since 2014

This will mark the second time Panchkula has hosted the BJP’s swearing-in ceremony, with the previous event occurring in 2014 for Manohar Lal Khattar, the state’s first BJP Chief Minister.

Party leaders announced that the swearing-in ceremony, initially set for 15 October, rescheduled to 17 October due to Prime Minister Modi’s availability.

Saini has announced plans to make 25,000 appointments before the ceremony, reinforcing the party’s commitment to governance.

In his remarks to the media, Saini criticized the Congress party, asserting that it remains mired in corruption and dynastic politics, claiming, “The Congress has lost its credibility.”

Following a decisive electoral win under his leadership, many speculate that Saini will remain Chief Minister as the BJP seeks to secure a third consecutive term in Haryana.

Independent candidates who secured three seats have pledged their unconditional support to the BJP, while both the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to win any seats in the assembly.
