German Minister ‘Fascinated’ By India’s UPI System, Says ” One of India’s success stories….”

On Sunday, the German embassy in India praised India’s digital infrastructure and referred to it as one of the success stories of the nation. The compliments followed the usage of UPI by Volker Wissing, Germany’s Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, who used it to do business in India and was “fascinated.”

The German embassy in India stated on X, formerly known as Twitter, “One of India’s success stories is digital infrastructure. Everyone may conduct transactions quickly thanks to UPI. It’s used by millions of Indians. Wissing, the federal minister for digital and transportation, was able to personally see the ease of UPI payments and was immediately captivated.
Additionally, the embassy published a video of the minister looking at the UPI.

During his trip to India for the G20 meeting, Volker Wissing. Wissing was present at the G20 Digital Ministers Meeting on August 19 in Bengaluru. The German Embassy in India posted on X that the G20 Digital Ministers conference in Bangalore was about to begin. Through our Digital Dialogue, Minister @Wissing and our wonderful host Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw had an intelligent conversation on advancing Indo-German cooperation in IT, particularly AI.

India is the country where the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), a mobile-based quick payment system, was developed. It enables users to quickly make payments around-the-clock. India has so far collaborated on cutting-edge fintech and payment solutions with Sri Lanka, France, the United Arab Emirates, and Singapore. In February 2023, India and Singapore inked a ground-breaking deal to connect their respective payment systems. In accepting India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment system, France has made an important stride. A deal was made between India and France to allow UPI to be used for transactions, beginning with the famous and well-known Eiffel Tower.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which is notable, is India’s mobile-based quick payment system that enables users to make 24/7 immediate payments using a Virtual Payment Address (VPA) they generate.

India and France have decided to utilize the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment technology, according to a statement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in July.
