An Indian Couple And Their Son Found Dead In United States; Investigators Suspect Double Suicide-Murder

An Indian couple and their six-year-old child were discovered dead in the US state of Maryland in what police believe was a double suicide-murder.

The three people from Karnataka were found dead from gunshot wounds in their Baltimore County home on Friday when police responded to a welfare check at about noon, officials said on Saturday.

Yogesh H. Nagarajappa (37), Prathiba Y. Amarnath (37), and Yash Honnal (6) were recognized as the deceased.

Police suspect they are a husband, wife, and son.

According to Baltimore County Police spokesperson Anthony Shelton, the incident is believed to be a double murder-suicide committed by Nagarajappa.

“Each appeared to have suffered from an apparent gunshot wound”, Shelton noted.

The family members were apparently last seen alive on Tuesday evening, according to police, who added that an autopsy would be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Officer to ascertain the manner and cause of death.

“I am heartbroken and deeply saddened for the innocent victims whose lives were cut short as a result of this heinous crime. We will do everything possible to assist family and community members in the aftermath of this tragic incident”, said Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski in a statement.

According to police, there is no threat to the local neighborhoods.
