Shinde maintained close coordination with the state Disaster Management Cell and other agencies, expressing hope for a swift return to normalcy amidst the challenging conditions. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar highlighted the impact of climate change on Mumbai and stressed the importance of infrastructure preparedness to mitigate future environmental challenges.
In the legislative assembly, Speaker Rahul Narwekar adjourned proceedings due to low attendance caused by the transportation disruptions affecting ministers and legislators. The situation was exemplified by a viral video featuring Minister of Relief and Rehabilitation Anil Patil and NCP legislator Amol Mitkari navigating a waterlogged railway track, underscoring the widespread transport woes.
As the city grapples with the aftermath of the deluge, concerns over infrastructure resilience and climate adaptation measures take center stage in governmental deliberations.
