Fitistan & Soldierathon’s Magic Leaves Mumbai Spell Bound

On 28th July 2024, 6200 Mumbaikars gathered at Colaba Military Station to honor Kargil war heroes. The event, part of Fitistan – Ek Fit Bharat’s ONGC Mumbai Kargil Soldierathon, marked 25 years since the Kargil War victory. Despite heavy rain, runners from 27 cities joined this tribute run.

The atmosphere was electric as participants sang the national anthem in solidarity. Fitistan organized the event impeccably, from race expo and entry to hydration points, breakfast, t-shirts, and Zumba sessions. Former Army Chief General VK Singh delivered a motivating speech, further energizing the crowd. Army’s blade runner Col Gaurav Dutta and Lt Col DD Goel also participated, encouraging runners along the route.

A massive Tribute Wall displayed the names of these heroes. Shilpa Bhagat, Managing Director of Fitistan, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming response nationwide.

Major Surendra Poonia, founder of Soldierathon and CEO of Fitistan, praised the team and volunteers for their tireless work.

Other notable attendees included Mickey Mehta, Satish, Adarsh Somani, Blade Runner Col DD Goel, Col Gaurav Dutta, Commander Bijay Nair, and top military officials of Mumbai.
