In a devastating incident, the father of a 29-year-old man has been apprehended for brutally killing his son with sharp-edged weapons in South Delhi, mere hours before the scheduled wedding procession to his fiancée’s residence. The victim, Gaurav Singhal, a gym owner, suffered multiple stab wounds and tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to a nearby hospital on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
Investigators examining the case discovered a disturbing scene, as a long trail of blood led to the room where Gaurav Singhal’s lifeless body was found. This suggested an attempt to conceal the crime by dragging the body inside the room, delaying its immediate discovery.
Initial inquiries into the murder have unveiled a tumultuous relationship between Gaurav and his father, as revealed by the police. “During the probe, it came to light that the father and son did not have a cordial relationship. The accused has also told the police that he has no regrets and he should have done it earlier. Further probe underway,” stated Delhi Police, as reported by ANI.
In addition to the grim details, investigators also noted several shoe marks of varying sizes in and around the crime scene, leading them to suspect the involvement of more than one person in the heinous act.
A police officer familiar with the case shared insights into the strained family dynamics, revealing that Gaurav had been resisting the pressure to marry, despite the imminent wedding plans. “Through local enquiry, we have learned that Singhal was in love with another woman and wanted to marry her. His family did not approve of his relationship. We have learned that Singhal and his father often had altercations over that issue,” said the officer on condition of anonymity.
