Congress Makes Five Promises Aimed at Youth and Farmers Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

In an effort to garner support from the youth and farming communities ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Congress party has announced a set of five promises, collectively termed “yuva nyay” (justice for youth). Congress MP Rahul Gandhi revealed these commitments during a rally in Rajasthan’s Banswara.

The five promises, presented on X, include:

1. Filling 30 lakh government vacancies.
2. Providing apprenticeships for young people.
3. Enacting a law against government recruitment examination question paper leaks.
4. Extending Social Security guarantees to gig workers.
5. Establishing a Rs 5,000-crore startup corpus to support entrepreneurs below the age of 40.

Take a look:

Addressing the crowd in Banswara, Rahul Gandhi pledged that if the Congress secures victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the party would address the issue of 30 lakh vacant government posts. He criticized the current government for its failure to fill these positions, promising that filling these vacancies would be the party’s top priority upon assuming power.

Highlighting the “yuva nyay” promises, Rahul Gandhi outlined the plan to provide apprenticeships for all youth in the country. He explained that every graduate and diploma holder would have the right to a one-year apprenticeship in either a private company or a government office, with a stipend of Rs 1 lakh provided during the year. Drawing parallels to the MGNREGA, Gandhi emphasized that this initiative would not only offer training but also ensure employment in the first year.

Rahul Gandhi also addressed the concerns of gig workers, including drivers, guards, and delivery executives, promising to implement a law for their social security. He cited the example of Rajasthan, where a similar law had been enacted, and pledged to extend these protections nationally.

Touching on the issue of paper leaks in government recruitment exams, Rahul Gandhi assured that the Congress would standardize the process and eliminate outsourcing, ensuring a fair and transparent system.

The draft manifesto containing these promises has been submitted to party supremo Mallikarjun Kharge by the Congress manifesto committee. The announcement reflects the party’s commitment to addressing key issues and concerns affecting the youth and farmers in the country.
