ED-CBI Case Yields No Evidence, Says AAP MP Sanjay Singh At Bharat Express Conclave

At the Bharat Express 3rd Anniversary Conclave, Aam Aadmi Party leader and Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh spoke candidly about the ED-CBI case filed against him and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, accusing authorities of political persecution.

Sanjay Singh said authorities repeatedly questioned what the raids had recovered, asking whether they had found gold, documents, or any evidence. He added that authorities arrested both him and Manish Sisodia despite finding nothing, calling the actions an attempt to instil fear and destabilise the Delhi government.

He criticised certain media outlets for spreading false narratives, claiming they broadcast reports of trucks full of evidence and extreme statements about punishments live, misleading the public.

Singh said the arrests of the Chief Minister, Education Minister, and Health Minister formed part of a broader plan to weaken the Delhi government, affecting public sentiment and contributing to electoral setbacks, with even the judiciary deeming the case unfit for trial.

Singh accused the Enforcement Directorate and CBI of misuse, noting their conviction rate is only one per cent. He said authorities often file cases and make arrests without proving guilt, a concern he raised in Parliament.

Singh noted that only one private member bill passed the Rajya Sabha in 55 years and was later rejected by the Lok Sabha, while debates on key laws like the PMLA were suppressed. He stressed that democracy depends on dialogue, yet coercion targets communities and manipulates appointments and reservations.

Singh called for accountability, transparent debates, and reform of investigative agencies to protect democratic processes.
