Dr. Sushil Kumar Sinha was elected President in the elections of Asia’s largest educational trust, Kayastha Pathshala. He defeated Chaudhary Raghavendra Nath Singh, former president of KP Trust, in a tough contest by 128 votes. Voting for the elections was done on Monday. Its counting of votes took place on Tuesday. There was a lot of commotion regarding this. On Sunday, a day before the elections, there was a fierce fight between supporters of both the candidates. In which a case was registered against more than 150 people.
This election had become a matter of prestige for both the candidates. The Choudhary family, which has held the post of president for many decades, also appeared divided into two camps in this election.
Chaudhary Jitendranath Singh and former UP government minister Siddharthnath were seen in support of Raghavendranath, former Trust President and MLC Chaudhary KP Srivastava and TP Singh were seen in support of Dr. Sushil Sinha.
Voting took place on Monday amid tight security and till 5 pm, 9563 votes were casted by the voters in in 32 booths. Sushil maintained the lead from the beginning which continued till the end.
