Dr Rajeshwar Singh Leads Wildlife Conservation Event 4.0 In Lakhimpur Kheri

On the premises of the Rangers Office in Kattaiya, Kishanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, the Environment Warriors organisation organised the fourth phase of its Wildlife Conservation Event.

The event drew significant attention as it focused on environmental education and conservation efforts, with over 250 students from 17 schools participating.

Honouring Forest Protectors & Promoting Environmental Awareness

The event kicked off with an inter-school quiz competition, where the students displayed impressive knowledge about environmental issues.

Manjot Kaur and her team from Gurukul Academy won first place and received ₹20,000, while Shaurya Pratap and his group from Vivekanand Academy claimed second place, earning ₹15,000.

The third prize of ₹10,000 was claimed by Niharika and her team, also from Vivekanand Academy.

In the accompanying painting competition, Prashu Kumari of Vivekanand Academy emerged victorious, earning ₹2,500. Livleen Kaur took second place, winning ₹2,000, and Dev Kashyap of SVPS school was awarded ₹1,500 for securing third.

Forest Watchers & Wildlife Protectors Honoured

The event also celebrated the dedication of forest staff.

The event recognised thirty forest watchers from the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve Division by awarding them bicycles for their exceptional efforts in protecting the region’s wildlife.

Additionally, the event honoured five outstanding forest employees for their contributions, further emphasising the importance of local conservation efforts.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh posted on X, emphasising the alarming rate of species extinction and the growing threat of pollution, while praising the local conservation efforts in Uttar Pradesh.

Leadership & Key Contributions

Lakhimpur Kheri MLA Dr Rajeshwar Singh, who attended as the chief guest, lauded the efforts of the district’s environmental stakeholders and emphasised the importance of educating the next generation on conservation.

Dr Singh also praised Uttar Pradesh’s achievements in forest conservation, noting the state’s record-breaking initiative to plant over 200 crore trees, which has contributed to an increase in the state’s forest cover by 10%.

He also highlighted the impressive rise in the population of tigers and rhinoceroses in the state, showcasing the strength of the ecosystem.

Dr Rajeshwar Singh also recognised the role of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in driving the state’s environmental initiatives.

He congratulated Field Director Dr H Rajamohan and other officials from Dudhwa Tiger Reserve for their work, noting the state’s growing reputation as a leader in wildlife conservation.

Future Of Wildlife Conservation

The event concluded with heartfelt gratitude extended to District Magistrate Kheri Durga Shakti Nagpal, Field Director Dr H Rajamohan, and other dignitaries who attended the event, for their continued support and efforts in safeguarding the region’s environment.

Through events like these, the state of Uttar Pradesh is solidifying its commitment to preserving wildlife and educating future generations on the importance of environmental stewardship.
