Dr Indresh Kumar Calls For Calm On Energy, Stresses Electoral Integrity At Eid Milan Meet

A national executive meeting and Eid Milan ceremony organised by Muslim Rashtriya Manch was held at the Gandhi Smriti Darshan Satyagraha Mandap in Rajghat on March 29, 2026.

While the event began with festive greetings symbolising unity and brotherhood, it soon evolved into a platform for discussions on pressing national and global issues, including tensions in West Asia and concerns over energy supply.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Dr Indresh Kumar asserted that India faces no shortage of oil and gas resources. He urged citizens to remain calm, stating that the country is capable of meeting its energy needs despite global uncertainties. Speakers at the event noted that India’s diversified import strategies, strategic reserves, and focus on alternative energy sources have strengthened its energy security.

Dr Kumar also raised concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. He stressed that curbing ‘infiltrators’ and ensuring clean voter lists are essential for safeguarding democracy. According to him, transparency and accountability in elections are crucial to maintaining national unity and security.

Participants highlighted that free and fair elections require collective responsibility. Concerns were also expressed over misinformation on social media, with speakers emphasising the need for awareness, dialogue, and accurate information to prevent social divisions.

Participation of Eminent Voices

The event witnessed participation from several prominent figures, including Zakir Hussain, Mohammad Afzal, Shahid Akhtar, and Shalini Ali, among others. Experts from academic, social, and policy backgrounds shared insights on education, infrastructure, and national development.

Speakers underlined the importance of strengthening education, healthcare, and employment to achieve the vision of a developed India by 2047.

The role of youth and women was described as critical in shaping the nation’s future. Discussions also touched upon institutional development and the effective utilisation of resources for social upliftment.

A detailed resolution document adopted at the event called for eliminating discrimination, promoting education, building a drug-free society, and strengthening interfaith harmony. Participants emphasised that maintaining peace and unity is a shared responsibility.

Framed as ‘Eid Diplomacy’, the gathering demonstrated that festivals can serve as platforms for meaningful dialogue.

The event concluded with a collective resolve to promote unity, awareness, and national progress, reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing contemporary challenges.
