Dr Dinesh Sharma Emphasises Brahmins’ Role In Protecting Culture At Lord Parshuram Jayanti In Sambhal

BJP MP Dr Dinesh Sharma attended Lord Parshuram Jayanti celebrations in Sambhal.

He led a grand procession and joined the ceremonial installation and worship of Lord Parshuram’s idol.

Addressing a massive public gathering organised by the Brahmin community, Dr Sharma praised the role of Brahmins in safeguarding India’s rich cultural and spiritual traditions.

Brahmin Values: Unity, Culture & Service

Dr Sharma stated that Brahmins have historically been the guardians of ‘sanskars’ (values) and ‘sanskriti’ (culture), working to unite all sections of society.

“Lord Parshuram never opposed a particular caste, he stood against tyrants,” Sharma clarified, addressing a common misconception about the deity’s legacy.

He reminded the audience that Parshuram even granted protection to Kshatriyas of the Ikshvaku dynasty. He resisted injustice, not social division.

Relevance Of Parshuram’s Message Today

Referring to Lord Parshuram’s association with Lord Ram, Sharma recounted the moment Parshuram recognised Lord Ram as an avatar of Vishnu after witnessing his divine strength.

“This moment signifies the Brahmin’s virtue, to bow before divinity and retreat into penance. A Brahmin respects elders, upholds tradition, serves the weak, and promotes learning and dharma,” said Sharma.

He stressed the enduring power of India’s spiritual heritage, saying that although foreign invaders looted the country’s wealth, they failed to destroy its values.

“Brahmins memorised scriptures when texts were burnt and later rewrote them; this is our true heritage,” he said.

He also highlighted the historical role of Brahmins as doctors, teachers, advisors, and peacemakers in villages.

Countering Misconceptions

Sharma cautioned against modern narratives that wrongly portray Lord Parshuram as anti-caste or use his name to discredit Sanatan values.

“We must remind people that Parshuram’s mission was to end tyranny, not to target any community. Understanding this distinction is vital,” he asserted.

Dignitaries In Attendance

The event saw the presence of BJP district leaders including Lalit Mohan Sharma, Harendra Rinku, and former MLC Parmeshwar Saini.

Others present were municipal chairman Rajesh Shankar Raju, Parshuram Seva Samiti president Gaurav Sharma, and representatives from the education ministry and local governance, making it a significant show of community solidarity and cultural pride.
