Delhi CM Rekha Gupta expressed deep gratitude to the armed forces and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching Operation Sindoor, aimed at avenging the Pahalgam terror attack.
Speaking on Saturday, she said, “I and all women salute the armed forces and thank PM Modi.”
She added that the operation has enhanced the honour of half of the nation’s population, the women of India.
Gupta praised the operation for successfully destroying terror hubs deep inside enemy territory.
“I thank PM Modi for launching this operation to raise the self-esteem of the nation’s women,” she said, applauding the military’s effective action.
In a symbolic gesture, the Chief Minister recited the poem ‘Main Bhi Sindoor Hun’, emphasising the social and cultural importance of ‘sindoor’ (vermilion) in Indian society and its role in representing strength and dignity.
Gupta condemned Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, for questioning the armed forces’ performance during previous surgical strikes. She accused them of lacking patriotism and colluding with enemies.
Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who interviewed the Chief Minister, criticised the former Kejriwal government for disrespecting Kashmiri Hindus.
He recalled how the AAP refused to make the film The Kashmir Files tax-free in Delhi and suggested it be released on social media instead.
Kher condemned the government’s insensitivity towards the victims of the Kashmiri Hindu genocide.
When asked about her passion for serving Delhi, CM Gupta said, “The unique aspect about Delhi that I like is its unity in diversity. It is a mini-India and reflects the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.”
