Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made a significant public appearance at the historic Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place on Saturday, just one day after granted conditional bail by the Supreme Court in the liquor policy case.
Accompanied by his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and other Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and supporters, Kejriwal visited the revered temple to offer prayers and express his gratitude.
In a statement posted on X, the AAP described the visit, stating, “Breaking free from the dictator’s chains and being released from prison, Chief Minister @ArvindKejriwal visited the ancient Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place. He was accompanied by his wife @KejriwalSunita, former Deputy Chief Minister @msisodia, Rajya Sabha MP @SanjayAzadSln, and other AAP leaders to pay respects to Lord Hanuman.”
Following the temple visit, Kejriwal is likely to address AAP leaders and workers at the party headquarters.
There is widespread speculation that he may outline his strategies for the upcoming Haryana elections and other future plans during this address.
AAP workers and leaders welcomed Kejriwal with enthusiastic celebrations upon his release from Tihar Jail on Friday. They gathered in the rain for hours to greet him.
They greeted him with chants of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’
In a defiant statement, Kejriwal asserted that his resolve remains unshaken despite his incarceration.
“Prisons will not diminish my determination,” he declared, vowing to continue his fight against what he described as anti-India forces with renewed vigor.
However, despite his release, the Supreme Court has significantly curtailed Kejriwal’s powers.
He cannot visit the Secretariat or sign official documents without the Lieutenant Governor’s approval.
Additionally, he cannot publicly comment on the case, interact with witnesses, or access related official files.
While Kejriwal remains committed to his role and continues to express his determination to serve the nation, the legal battle surrounding the liquor policy case is far from concluded.
