Defence Minister Rajnath Singh marked the festival of colors, Holi, with soldiers in Leh, accompanied by Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Pande and General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps Lt Gen Rashim Bali.
Originally slated to visit the Siachen area, the world’s highest battlefield, for the festivities, the minister had to change plans due to adverse weather conditions. Despite this, he made a phone call to the commanding officer stationed at Siachen, assuring them of a visit at the earliest opportunity.
Addressing the troops, Singh highlighted Ladakh’s significance, stating, “If Delhi is our national capital, Ladakh is a capital of bravery and valor.” He emphasized the symbolic importance of Siachen, underscoring its role in asserting India’s sovereignty and resolve.
Expressing his commitment to the welfare of the armed forces, Singh reiterated, “We must take care of you, your children, your parents…your family. We are always ready for that.” He emphasized the government’s dedication to enhancing the well-being of the military personnel.
