CP Joshi, BJP Chief, Declares: Rajasthan Election 2023 Outcome to Reject Misgovernance and Injustice

As the vote counting unfolds in Rajasthan, BJP Chief CP Joshi asserts that misgovernance and injustice, indirectly targeting the Congress led by Ashok Gehlot, will be defeated. Initial trends reveal Congress leading on four seats, while BJP leads on one in the 199-member assembly. Rajasthan BJP Chief expresses confidence that the public will bestow a complete majority upon BJP, emphasizing the triumph of good governance and justice.

Counting commenced for 199 out of 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan after extensive campaigning by major parties. Congress leader BD Kalla predicts winning the mandate in Bikaner, anticipating a repeat of Congress governance in the state. Pawan Khera of Congress envisions results surpassing expectations, claiming retention of power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, as well as aiming for victories in Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

Exit polls indicate a competitive race in Rajasthan, with varying predictions on the winner. While three polls favor BJP, two show Congress leading, highlighting the state’s tradition of not reelecting an incumbent government for nearly three decades.

The electoral battle features key figures like Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former CM Vasundhara Raje, Sachin Pilot, Govind Singh Dotasra, and Hanuman Beniwal among 1,862 candidates. Gehlot’s stronghold, Sardarpura, remains crucial, contested by BJP’s Mahendra Singh Rathore. Former CM Vasundhara Raje, initially perceived as sidelined, emerges actively ahead of vote counting, contesting from Jhalrapatan in Jhalawar since 2003.

Rajasthan, under the Congress government led by Ashok Gehlot since 2018, witnessed polls on 199 seats on November 25, with a majority mark of 100. The election in Karanpur was adjourned due to the unfortunate passing of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar. The electoral scenario reflects the intense rivalry between BJP and Congress, each striving to outdo the other in their electoral promises and campaigns.
