Complaint Filed By BJP Against Priyanka Gandhi Over Her ‘50% Commission’ Post

In response to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s social media post accusing the BJP-led administration in Madhya Pradesh of engaging in corruption, the leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) threatened action and reported her to the police on Saturday.
Gandhi said that “50% commission is sought in projects” in a social media post on Friday, citing a small-time contractors’ association.

What did Priyanka Gandhi say?

Gandhi asserted that a Madhya Pradesh union of contractors complained in a letter to the high court’s chief judge that they only received payment after paying a 50% fee. He further predicted that the people of MP would overthrow the BJP administration in the same way they did in Kerala.

“The people of Madhya Pradesh will overthrow the 50% commission BJP administration. In Karnataka, the crooked BJP administration used to take a 40% commission. The BJP has advanced in Madhya Pradesh by surpassing its own record of corruption. She wrote on X (previously Twitter): “The people of Madhya Pradesh will overthrow the BJP government with a 50% commission, just as the people of Karnataka overthrew the government with a 40% commission.

Leaders of the BJP called her accusations fake and threatened to take “strong action” by filing a report with the Bhopal crime department.

By whom was the complaint made?

The complaint was made by the state’s minister for medical education, Vishwas Sarang, along with BJP MLAs and other officeholders, who claimed that Congress leaders were constantly attempting to propagate false information.

“Yesterday, the Congress leaders lied by circulating a fake letter, which was written on the name of the organisation, which doesn’t exist, and the contractor’s address was also found to be false,” said VD Sharma, the head of the Madhya Pradesh BJP, at a press conference held on Saturday.

Gandhi will have to explain where this letter came from, he continued, and the BJP will take serious measures against this “cybercrime.”

The police are looking into the allegation, according to Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Srutakirti Somvanshi, and a first information report will be filed once the investigation is complete.

In response, Kamal Nath, the president of the MP Congress, stated that “hundreds of corruption incidents occurred in the state. What number of cases will they record? People are well aware that they are merely attempting to establish a false agenda.
