Coimbatore is under an extensive security cover ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Wednesday for the South India Organic Farmers’ Summit.

Over 3,000 police personnel ensure smooth conduct and public safety across the city.

The three-day summit will begin at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the event, which will continue until November 21.

The summit attracts more than 50,000 organic farmers from southern states.

During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will felicitate 18 leading organic farmers for their contribution to sustainable agriculture.

City braces for summit

As per the official programme, the Prime Minister will arrive at Coimbatore International Airport at 1.25 PM from Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh.
