CM Yogi To Inaugurate Rs 238-Crore Sanitation And Safety Projects For Maha Kumbh 2025

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to inaugurate key sanitation and safety initiatives worth Rs 238 crore in Prayagraj on Wednesday as part of comprehensive preparations for the upcoming Maha Kumbh 2025.

These projects aim to ensure a cleaner, safer, and more efficient environment for the millions of devotees expected to attend this globally renowned spiritual event.

Key Initiatives & Infrastructure

The Chief Minister will introduce advanced sanitation equipment, including tippers and compactors, with an investment of Rs 50 crore.

Additionally, Rs 173 crore has been allocated to fire safety, water police, radio communication, and traffic management equipment to bolster security and emergency response during the event.

As a centerpiece of the preparations, CM Yogi will inaugurate a newly built control room at the Municipal Corporation office.

This facility will serve as a hub for monitoring sanitation and operational efforts throughout the Maha Kumbh.

Acknowledging the vital role of sanitation workers, Swachhagrahis, and boatmen, CM Yogi will distribute uniform kits to 20,000 personnel and life jackets to boatmen.

These efforts aim to enhance their safety and boost morale.

To further support the workforce, over 15,000 personnel will benefit from welfare schemes under the ‘Swachh Kumbh Fund’.

The schemes include insurance coverage, financial support, and resources to improve their working conditions.

During his visit, the Chief Minister will review several key infrastructure projects, including the Dashashwamedh Ghat, Ganga Riverfront, pontoon bridges, and ongoing dredging in the Ganga River.

His itinerary also includes a visit to the Nagvasuki Temple and participation in cultural and developmental programs.

Tech-Enabled Maha Kumbh Experience

For the first time, the government will sign an MoU with Google to integrate the temporary Maha Kumbh city into Google Maps.

This initiative will allow visitors to navigate key locations such as ghats, akharas, and facilities, significantly enhancing their experience.

With this visit, CM Yogi reaffirms his government’s commitment to presenting a clean, secure, and spiritually enriching Maha Kumbh.

The large-scale initiatives reflect the administration’s determination to create a seamless experience for pilgrims and showcase Prayagraj as a global spiritual hub.

As preparations gather pace, these efforts underscore Uttar Pradesh’s readiness to host one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings.
