The Armed Forces Festival, organized by Surya Command, kicked off at Lucknow Cantonment on September 3, 2024. The three-day event, held at Surya Khel Parisar, was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Over 8,000 attendees, including students, NCC cadets, and citizens, witnessed a stunning display of military equipment, featuring tanks, helicopters, and artillery guns developed under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. Notable exhibits included the T-90 Main Battle Tank, K-9 Vajra artillery gun, and models of ALH and LCH Prachand helicopters. Live demonstrations, including para drops, combat drills, and a horse and dog show, captivated the audience.
The Indian Navy’s band performed martial tunes, while its pavilion displayed naval history, models of ships and submarines, and career opportunities. The Indian Air Force impressed with a flypast by Jaguar fighter aircraft and interactive exhibits, including aircraft models and simulators. The event also featured informative counters for veterans and recruitment opportunities for the youth.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Armed Forces for organizing the event and encouraged students to draw inspiration from their dedication. The festival will continue until September 5, 2024, from 10 AM to 6 PM.
