Building Collapse In Jaipur: Rescue Efforts Intensify

An under-construction building collapsed in Jaipur’s Jawahar Nagar area on Thursday night. Police and civil defense officials quickly arrived at the scene to clear the debris. Additionally, teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are on-site.

Officials are currently investigating if anyone is trapped beneath the rubble. Locals have raised concerns about a juice shop located under the building, increasing the likelihood that people might be stuck.

Jaipur Municipal Corporation (Heritage) Commissioner Abhishek Surana reported that municipal teams and civil defense workers are actively conducting the rescue operation. Surana stated, “We are focused on determining if there are people trapped inside the building. Some shop owners involved in the construction are missing. We are working to locate them, but our primary concern is rescuing anyone trapped inside.”

At the time of this report, JCB machines were still removing debris from the site.

Local shopkeeper Aditya criticized the situation, claiming that construction continued for a year without adhering to safety norms. He attributed this negligence to the municipal officials who ignored complaints.
