The two leaders reviewed the India-South Africa Strategic Partnership. Their discussions covered the proposed India-SACU trade agreement, mining and critical minerals. They examined infrastructure, food security and digital public infrastructure.
Prime Minister Modi and Ramaphosa discussed emerging technologies and skilling as key areas for deeper cooperation. They sought to build on longstanding historical ties while creating stronger avenues for future collaboration.
The leaders placed particular emphasis on Africa’s development and progress. They explored ways to strengthen cooperation on issues affecting the Global South and support its collective interests. Their engagement reflected a shared focus on building a more balanced global order. It aligned with the broader priorities of the 18th BRICS Summit, centred on resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability.
The meeting reinforced India and South Africa’s commitment to expanding strategic cooperation across trade, resources, infrastructure and technology. Their discussions highlighted the importance of practical partnerships that can support economic growth and development.
The engagement further underlined the significance of India-South Africa relations within BRICS and the wider Global South.
Both countries continue to pursue stronger collaboration while supporting a more equitable international system.
