BRICS Summit 2026: Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Arrives In Delhi To Strengthen India-UAE Ties

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reached the national capital on Friday to take part in the 18th BRICS Summit. Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh welcomed him at the airport.

The Ministry of External Affairs extended a warm welcome to the visiting Crown Prince and highlighted the significance of his participation in the summit.

Taking to x, the MEA posted, “Warmly welcome Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. He was received by MOS @KVSinghMPGonda at the airport.”

“The visit will be an opportunity to further strengthen India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership centred on robust trade and energy security for shared prosperity,” the post further read.

The Crown Prince’s participation comes as India prepares to host the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 12 and 13 under its 2026 chairship.

Trade and energy security, however, remain important elements of India-UAE relations.

Sheikh Khaled will use his visit to deepen India-UAE engagement in economic cooperation and shared prosperity.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also arrived in New Delhi earlier on Friday to attend the BRICS Summit. Minister of State Sanjay Seth received the Egyptian President at the airport.

The arrival of senior leaders comes ahead of the two-day summit, which will bring together representatives from BRICS member and partner countries.

The arrival of Sheikh Khaled and other international leaders, however, marks the final phase of preparations for the summit in the national capital.
