Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak slammed the Samajwadi Party (SP) over its alleged involvement in criminal activities. Pathak accused SP of supporting goons and mafias, claiming they intimidate the public and officials. He specifically linked SP’s support to the recent murder of a Dalit girl in Karhal, Mainpuri.
Pathak stated that the girl was killed because she refused to vote for SP, instead choosing to support the BJP after being impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare schemes. He called the crime “heinous” and vowed that the Uttar Pradesh government would ensure strict punishment for those responsible.
SP’s Record on Law and Order Questioned
Pathak also criticized the law and order situation during SP’s rule, accusing the party of promoting criminals. He said that under SP leadership, districts were controlled by mafias and crimes against women were rampant. He emphasized that the BJP has restored law and order in the state, claiming that it operates with transparency.
Pathak added that the murder of the Dalit girl exposed SP’s alleged ties with criminals, which, he said, had been a pattern during their time in power.
SP Workers Accused of Voter Intimidation
Pathak further alleged that SP workers had used unethical tactics during recent by-elections. He claimed that SP workers dressed in burqas to vote in place of women, which raised suspicions of voter fraud. He said the BJP had reported this issue to the Election Commission.
Pathak also accused SP leaders of intimidating the public and officials, using inappropriate language. He suggested that SP’s behavior undermines democracy, stating that whenever the party was in power, crime flourished in Uttar Pradesh.
