India’s youth have grown up with smartphones, startups, global aspirations and a more confident national outlook. Against this backdrop, the BJP’s pitch on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life focuses on a generational shift.
The party argues that governance has moved beyond treating young Indians as beneficiaries. Instead, it seeks to position them as contributors to national development.
According to BJP national president Nitin Nabin, PM Modi’s governance has expanded the scope of Indian ambition across infrastructure, manufacturing, startups, technology, sports, space and defence.
The message particularly targets a generation that increasingly wants to build businesses and create opportunities rather than simply seek employment.
India’s startup ecosystem remains a key symbol of this approach. The BJP says young entrepreneurs are moving from ‘job seekers’to ‘job givers’. It views startups and innovation as important avenues for economic progress.
The approach extends to sports and fitness. Initiatives such as Khelo India and Fit India have brought youth participation closer to mainstream public policy.
For Gen Z, the wider message is that India should compete successfully on the global stage.
Technology and innovation occupy a central position. The proposed Seva First: Innovation Challenge targets students, startups, professionals and young innovators. It aims to connect governance messaging with India’s expanding innovation culture.
The BJP further claims that governance has reshaped aspirations. It says the focus has moved from basic access and welfare towards opportunity, enterprise and leadership.
The same narrative applies to women. From Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao to Lakhpati Didi and greater participation in decision-making, the BJP presents women as development leaders rather than mere recipients.
“A developed India by 2047 cannot be built by governments alone. It will be built by the ambition, ideas and enterprise of its youth,” says a BJP leader.
