BJP Vows To End Love Jihad, Multiple Marriages In Bengal: HM Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party will abolish practices such as ‘Love Jihad’ and ‘multiple marriages’ in West Bengal. He said the party will implement the Uniform Civil Code if it forms the government after the upcoming Assembly elections.

Addressing a public rally in Manikchak, Malda district, Shah asserted that unequal marital provisions are unjust and promised legal uniformity.

In remarks shared via X, the Minister reiterated that the proposed framework would ensure equal civil laws and eliminate such practices across the state.

Shah issued a stern warning to individuals allegedly involved in corruption during the tenure of the Trinamool Congress government, declaring that no offender would evade accountability.

HM Amit Shah stated that authorities will declare the election results and form a new administration. He said they will initiate strict legal action against those implicated in corrupt activities.

HM Amit Shah cautioned anti-social elements against disrupting polling scheduled on April 23 and April 29. He emphasised that law enforcement agencies will respond firmly to any interference with the democratic process.

Shah urged such individuals to refrain from unlawful actions, warning of serious consequences. He further criticised statements regarding the construction of a Babri mosque and asserted that no such structure would be permitted anywhere in India.

Referring to historical developments, Shah highlighted the reconstruction of the Ram Temple under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

HM Amit Shah further stated that the BJP would intensify efforts to curb illegal infiltration in West Bengal, citing previous actions against extremism. He affirmed that the party aims to strengthen internal security, enforce the rule of law, and ensure orderly governance in the state.
